Rebecca Chambers The heroine of the game. She is Bravo team's field medic, and is not used to combat. However, when the team splits up to look for survivors, she finds herself with no choice but to fight. She is surprisingly strong willed and carries a need for justice.
Billy Cohen The game's second playable character, Billy is an ex-marine who was being transported to his execution when his transport was attacked by zombies. He is labeled a criminal and deemed dangerous, but he is very kind. He tries to hide his sense of compassion, but he often finds himself giving away his poker face to Rebecca.
Albert Wesker The C.O. of STARS and the leader of Alpha team. He is a very quiet man, and holds a perfect poker face. He has cold precision and appears to lack any empathy at all. Thus, he is a dangerous man, and crossing him is suicide.
Dr. James Marcus An ex-Umbrella researcher. He is responsible for the discovery and spreading of the T-virus. Spencer had him killed when he began to seek his own interests, but his queen leech entered his body and preserved his DNA and memories. He is now nothing more than a parasitic queen leech.
William Birkin The man responsible for the creation of the G-virus (not present in Resident Evil 0). He assists Wesker from behind the scenes.
